Bucky: It’s great to get back on the scoresheet

Defender Gregor Buchanan was delighted to open his Morton account and end a 15-month wait to get back on the scoresheet.

The 28-year-old centre-half headed home a Michael Tidser in the 78th minute of Saturday’s Ladbrokes Championship fixture against Dundee United to cancel out Frederic Frans’ opener and earn his side a point.

It was Buchanan’s first goal since scoring for Renfrewshire rivals St Mirren in a 4-2 win over Inverness Caledonian Thistle on 9 September 2017, and he was thrilled to end a drought he admitted was too long.

He also discusses his determination to find the net more often, responding to the pressure manager Jonatan Johansson put on him following the Dunfermline defeat, and the squad’s Christmas night out in Manchester.
