Travel

For those supporters travelling to Hampden for tomorrow’s game the following advice has been issued by Hampden Park Ltd, SPFL, ScotRail and Police Scotland, who collectively have asked us to publish online.

Travel by Road: Could supporters buses and those travelling by car please note the route for Hampden is different from the one used for our recent Irn-Bru Cup game versus Queen’s Park at the national stadium.

All Morton supporters travelling by road must use the M74 and take the turn off for Polmadie. Hampden is signposted from that junction. Police will be directing buses to the appropriate areas.

Segregation is in place at this match, so please do not travel to Hampden via Dumbreck Road, Langside route. Police travel advice is arrive early.

Travel by Rail: ScotRail will be adding extra carriages to trains where possible between Gourock and Glasgow Central to help fans from Inverclyde travel to the match.

However, services are expected to be busier than normal. To help ensure you arrive at the event on time, please allow extra time for travel and purchase tickets in advance. Tickets are available at staffed stations, via telesales on 0330 303 0111, the official ScotRail app and website.

ScotRail will have queuing systems in place at Glasgow Central and Mount Florida stations, so please allow plenty of extra time for the journey including your return from Mount Florida.

As with most major events, ScotRail will have extra staff on hand to assist passengers and if necessary to deal with the alcohol ban that is in place.

Parking

Police will be directing buses to the appropriate areas. Those bus operators with passes please note that you must be parked by at least 11.15am.

Busses without car park passes will be directed to the Polmadie Road area, which is about a 10 minute walk from Hampden.

For those travelling by car, on-street restrictions apply around the stadium. However, on-street parking is available in the Calder Street area, but please do not park and cause any obstruction of driveways.

Security

All fans attending semi-final should note that enhanced search arrangements will be in operation at this fixture. This additional safety measure has the potential to delay entry into the ground, so fans are strongly encouraged to get to the stadium as early as possible. Turnstiles will be open 90 minutes before kick-off, i.e.10.45

Any use or attempt to bring any pyrotechnic device into Hampden will result in arrest and the alleged offender being held in custody for a Monday court appearance. Police Scotland may also be checking supporters buses for alcohol and pyrotechnic devices

Greenock Morton Football Club appreciate the efforts of all fans in travelling to this landmark fixture and are sure that our behaviour will be of its usual high standard – but please make plenty of noise and get behind the team!
