Austin Samuels joins on a short-term deal

Greenock Morton are pleased to announce the signing of Austin Samuels on a short-term deal until January 2025.

The English forward is a product of the Wolverhampton Wanderers Youth Academy having been with the club for over 10 years working his way through the youth ranks.

Whilst at Molineux, Samuels spent time on loan at Kidderminster Harriers, Bradford City and Aberdeen before making a permanent switch to Inverness Caledonian Thistle in January 2022.

In his time in the Highlands, the 23-year-old made over 50 appearances, scoring 7 times and was also part of the Inverness squad that reached the Scottish Cup final in 2023.

Following his departure from the Caledonian Stadium in the Summer, Austin now signs on at Cappielow and we are delighted to welcome him onboard.

Austin will wear the number 24 shirt and is available for selection in tonight’s match against Hamilton Academical in the SPFL Trust Trophy.

On today’s signing news, Manager Dougie Imrie commented, “Austin is a promising young player that will add real quality to our attacking options. He’s still just 23 years old but joins with valuable experience in this league and he was also part of the Inverness C.T. side who reached the Scottish Cup final.

I am pleased to welcome Austin to Cappielow!”
