Aberdeen semi-final to be staged at Hampden
The club have today received confirmation from the SPFL that our Betfred Cup semi-final against Aberdeen will take place at Hampden Park on Saturday 22 October with a 12.15pm kick-off.
Football league officials met with representatives from all four clubs at the national stadium this afternoon, with director Warren Hawke, safety officer John Malcolm and club secretary Antonia Kerr in attendance on behalf of Morton.
The decision was reached for both final-four ties to be staged at Hampden, with our match against Derek McInnes’ Dons selected for Saturday lunchtime and screened live on BT Sport.
Although the Sinclair Street side last contested a semi-final in 1981, that match was played at Celtic Park, so next month’s meeting will be our first at the national stadium since facing Aberdeen there on Saturday 1 December 1979.
Ticket prices and sales information will be published at the start of next week.
