Aidan learning valuable lessons during Ton loan stint
Aidan Nesbitt believes he has already learned invaluable lessons during his loan stint with Morton due to the first-team experience he has gained in big games and unfamiliar roles so far this season.
Celtic starlet Nesbitt initially joined the Ton on a five-month temporary transfer in August before extending his stay until the end of the campaign at the beginning of January.
The 20-year-old, who has picked up two Scotland Under-21 caps in his time on Sinclair Street, is a winger but has been deployed in a free role just off the front man as well as actually leading the line on the odd occasion due to injuries.
With 19 starts and seven substitute appearances already under his belt to date, Nesbitt feels his Cappielow tenure has been huge in terms of his maturation as a player.
Speaking exclusively to gmfc.net, he said: “Matches against say Dumbarton at home are sometimes a battle. You don’t really get many games like that at development football. In games like that you’re totally just learning.
“Then obviously we got to the [Betfred Cup] semi-final and played against Rangers at Ibrox [in the Scottish Cup]. When you get to those stages of major competitions, it is a big step in your learning.
“The Falkirk game in the Scottish Cup was the first game I really played up front and it’s new to me. But I’ve enjoyed it and think I’ve done okay. So I’ve definitely learned a lot at Morton so far, playing in different positions and in big games.”
