Statement on today’s match against Ayr United

Following the postponement of today’s scheduled match against Ayr United, we would like to provide supporters with further information regarding the decision.

Despite worsening weather conditions throughout the day, the pitch had been holding up well, and no inspection had been scheduled. In an update posted at approximately 11.35am, we confirmed that no pitch inspection was planned at that time.

The match referee arrived shortly before 1.45pm and, following his initial assessment of the pitch, decided that the match could not safely proceed due to concerns over player safety. The main area of concern was a stretch of the pitch on the bottom corner of the main stand side.

We fully understand supporters’ frustration at the late postponement, particularly those who had already arrived at the stadium or were travelling to attend the match. We recognise the inconvenience and disappointment this has caused and sincerely apologise.

Supporters who purchased tickets can request a refund by emailing admin@gmfc.net. Alternatively, tickets will remain valid for the rearranged fixture, with the new date to be confirmed in due course.

We apologise again for the disruption to supporters’ plans and thank everyone for their patience and understanding.
