Sam Robinson to step down as Commercial Director
Greenock Morton Football Club can confirm that Sam Robinson has advised the Board of his intention to step down from his role as Commercial Director at the end of the current season.
Sam has played a significant role at the club during a period of considerable challenge and change, contributing across commercial, operational, and strategic areas. He will remain in post as Commercial Director until the end of the season to ensure continuity and to support the club during the transition.
In recent months, Sam has also stepped up and filled in the vacant role of General Manager, providing support to our valuable and hard-working staff team. Sam will also be stepping back from this as the club looks to bring in a permanent candidate for the role, but will be on hand to offer support to the incoming General Manager.
Commenting on his decision, Sam said:
“Serving Greenock Morton has been both demanding and deeply meaningful. I’m proud of the work undertaken during a challenging period for the club, but I believe there is a natural cycle to these roles and that the time is right to begin planning the next phase for me and for the club.”
The Board would like to thank Sam for his commitment, professionalism, and contribution to Greenock Morton Football Club and will continue discussing future Board composition with Morton Club Together.
