Louie Murphy signs first professional contract
Greenock Morton are delighted to announce that 17-year-old Louie Murphy has signed his first professional contract with the club until summer 2027.
Joining the Youth Academy in the summer, Louie impressed in training and earned the opportunity to train with the first team, where he has developed and continued to remain part of the first-team setup.
As part of Louie’s development, the midfielder joined WoSFL Premier Division side Arthurlie FC on loan in October, where he will remain until the end of the season.
On Louie signing his first professional contract, Head of Youth and Emerging Talent, Gary Miller, commented, “We’re absolutely delighted that Louie has signed his first professional contract with the club.”
“He has shown real dedication to his development and has worked extremely hard to earn this opportunity. Louie is a player with a lot of potential, but he’s also someone with a terrific attitude and a real willingness to learn.”
“This is a proud moment for Louie and his family, and it’s a big reward for the hard work he’s put in. We’re looking forward to continuing to support him as he progresses with us.”
Everyone at Greenock Morton FC would like to congratulate Louie on signing his first professional deal, and we look forward to seeing his continued progress in a Morton shirt.
