Morton Women to Return to Cappielow
Greenock Morton FC Women will play their upcoming home match with Dryburgh Ladies at Cappielow as the club looks to strengthen its support of the women’s football operation.
The match, which will take place on Sunday 10th March 2024, with a 2.00pm kick-off, will be open to the public with tickets for Over 18’s just £5.00 and Under 18’s go free with a paying adult.
Supporters will be housed in the Allan McGraw Main Stand and parking will be available in the top car park with Sinclair Street having no parking for the match, similar to our men’s matchday operations.
Tickets will be available to buy through our online ticketing platform and we will announce an on-sale date in due course along with further supporter information.
On the announcement, Greenock Morton FC General Manager Dale Pryde-MacDonald said, “I am excited to get the women playing here at Cappielow for this match. It’s certainly an area of the club we need to support and help to progress going forward. The women’s team and pathway has been excellently delivered with limited resources over the last few years and I want to ensure we enable that part of the club to succeed as much as any other part.”
“Personally, I hope as many people as possible can attend and back the women. We have all seen the positive strides the women’s game has taken in recent years and we want to build our own chapter in that at Greenock Morton FC over the years to come.”
Colin McEachnie, Greenock Morton FC Women’s Manager added, “Being a Morton fan, it gives me the selfish opportunity to manage at Cappielow, however, the bigger picture is having the women’s team representing the Greenock Morton FC badge at our home ground.”
“We have been making massive strides in our relationships over the last 18 months and this further strengthens the commitment from the club to women’s football in our community. We hope to see as many fans there as possible to inspire the next generation of girls in Inverclyde”.
