John Mitchell joins Greenock on loan until January

Defender John Mitchell has today completed a temporary switch that sees him join local junior outfit Greenock Juniors on loan until 31 January 2017.

The 18-year-old is a product of the club’s youth academy and a regular at the heart of Andy Millen’s back four in the Ton Under-20s.

Centre-half Mitchell is yet to make a competitive first-team appearance but was an unused substitute versus Queen of the South on Saturday 15 October.

Ravenscraig-based Central District First Division outfit Greenock host Stonehaven in a Scottish Junior Cup replay tomorrow, and the teenager goes straight into contention for a starting slot.
