Club Statement – Live Streaming Issues
In order to respond to the issues that our supporters experienced tonight, we would, first of all, like to apologise for the technical problems incurred by our transmission of the Betfred Cup tie against Queen of the South.
Over the last few weeks we have run a number of tests, including the use of the Pixellot system and, in consultation with our external IT consultants, we decided to revert back to our original fixed-base camera system. We employed this system, in part for last week’s bounce game with Livingston and concluded that it was the better option going forward.
Obviously, the transmission threw up several problems on the night and although we were able to transfer the platform to YouTube, we understand that this is not an ideal option.
We completely understand the frustrations that our supporters would have encountered this evening and completely sympathise with those frustrations. We still remain committed to providing a service that enhances their enjoyment of watching Morton play. In particular, that is a key area of concern for the Club with admittance to football grounds still prohibited.
In conclusion, we are conducting a comprehensive review of our entire system in order to provide a platform for all Morton supporters to watch the team play competitive football.
