Morton are back on the road for a second week in a row as they travel up the motorway to face Partick Thistle tomorrow afternoon in the Ladbrokes Championship.

The Jags are yet to find a home win in the league this season and on the other hand, the Ton remain winless away from home meaning that tomorrow’s encounter will be a must see for both sets of supporters.

The game comes following Morton’s 2-1 defeat away at Dundee at Dens Park last Friday night and whilst David Hopkin’s men put in a valiant effort, it wasn’t enough as Dundee sealed the win ten minutes from time.

For Ian McCall and Partick, their previous match was a 4-1 away defeat to Ayr which see them remain dead bottom of the Ladbrokes Championship.

Current Connections

After seven seasons of service at Cappielow and over 200 appearances, defender Thomas O’Ware moved to Partick Thistle at the beginning of last season and will be available for selection in the game.

Gary Harkins came to Cappielow two seasons ago, scoring eight goals in 41 appearances, and re-joined former club Partick on 27 December 2018 signing an 18-month contract after departing Queen of the South. Harkins recently returned from an operation and should be in the squad for the game tomorrow.

Last Time Round

Morton produced another incredible comeback on in our previous meeting against Partick Thistle after coming back from 2-0 down to win the game 3-2 in front of the Cappielow crowd.

Partick took the lead by two goals to nil through goals from Miller and Da Vita and it seemed like the game was over with.

But on 74 minutes, the dream comeback began for Morton as Nicky Cadden sent a free kick sailing towards the goal which Scott Fox attempted to palm away but instead sent the ball into the net to give Morton a goal back in the game.

In quick succession, substitute John Sutton showed got the equalising goal as a corner into the box was met by the head of Bob McHugh who flicked the ball to the back post where John Sutton was waiting for the tap in, sending the Cowshed into scenes of madness.

But in typical Morton fashion, this game was not over yet as a long Lewis Strapp throw-in on 81 minutes was headered in by Brian McLean and saw the Ton players show their pride for the club in the celebrations that followed.
