Lewis Strapp played in two different positions as Elgin City rejigged their side in order to fight back from 2-0 down to claim a draw with league leaders Stirling Albion.
Wearing the number 11 shirt, Strapp started out as a left wing-back in a 3-5-2 formation, but manager Jim Weir tweaked his system in response to conceding twice inside the first 23 minutes.
This saw the 17-year-old switch to a more orthodox left-back role, while the Borough Briggs outfit went on to secure a share of the spoils with two second-half strikes.
Fellow defender Jack Iredale had an afternoon to forget, picking up a booking before being forced off injured in Queen’s Park’s 4-2 loss at Airdrie United.
Jamie McGowan helped Troon progress in the Scottish Junior Cup by saving a penalty as they edged through to the second round with a shootout victory following a 2-2 draw in their replay at Renfrew.
Elsewhere, Ben Eardley and Scott Miller missed Greenock and Clydebank’s fixtures through injury, while David Anderson was inactive due to the postponement of Johnstone Burgh’s match against Carluke.
