First and foremost, I would like to thank our supporters for their patience during what we understand has been a frustrating time for us all with regard to the electronic turnstiles.

I feel it is vital we are open and honest about where we find ourselves and want to explain the events of this week and where we stand at present.

We set a deadline of Tuesday at 10am ahead of our pre-ops meeting – the primary concern of which is planning for spectator safety within the stadium – for Interstadia to have the entry system fully operational.

Although the deadline was not met, we were assured by the supplier that only minor adjustments were required and that these would be rectified expeditiously, guaranteeing the system would be ready in time for Saturday.

On this basis, I felt confident that all systems would be fully operational and we drafted a statement to that effect, waiting on the green light from Interstadia.

The electronic turnstiles are now live and operational and those fans in possession of their season cards will be able to use those to gain access to the stadium by scanning the reader at the gate.

However, an issue with ticketing website www.gmfctickets.co.uk remains unresolved and means we do not have access to the backend, which is required to print season cards and allow games to be uploaded to fan cards.

Therefore, despite coming exceptionally close to having all systems fully functional, it now seems increasingly unlikely that this will be the case at this late stage.

We have now gone seven weeks over the original deadline agreed with Interstadia, and they are fully aware that, as with any business arrangement, this is wholly unacceptable and there will be financial penalties incurred.

On behalf of myself and Greenock Morton Football Club, I would like to apologise to our fans for the inconvenience and assure them we share their frustrations.

Season Cards

Fans in possession of their season cards will be able to gain access to the stadium by using the card to scan the reader at the gate.

Approximately 25 per cent of season cards have not yet been issued. If you come along to Cappielow today or the ticket office tomorrow, you will receive a match ticket for the game, with your card available from next week.

Fan Cards

Fan cards are not yet active but we fully expect the system to be operational in time for our home fixture against Falkirk on Saturday 30 September

Unfortunately, supporters who have applied for a card online will still be required to purchase a match ticket for tomorrow’s game against Dunfermline.

Match Tickets

As a goodwill gesture due to the later-than-hoped timing of today’s update, the board of directors have frozen adult ticket prices for this weekend’s fixture at £18 irrespective of when they are purchased.

Match tickets are available now from the following outlets:

Cappielow – Now until 5pm

Smiths of Greenock – Now until 1pm on Saturday (Opening hours, 9am – 5.30pm).

Sinclair Street ticket office – Matchday, from 11am to 3pm
