Disability Access Officer appointed
Greenock Morton Football Club are pleased to confirm the appointment of Andy Adams as our first ever disability access officer.
As part of our ongoing commitment to the matchday experience and supporting the provision of inclusive, accessible facilities and services at Cappielow, the board saw the creation of this new role as a vital next step.
Andy was keen to come on board in this capacity and we recognised the strengths he possesses from his time in the fire service and felt this combined with the fact he is a lifelong fan made him an ideal candidate.
Chief executive Warren Hawke said: “I’m delighted to welcome Andy Adams to the club as our first ever disability access officer.
“Andy is a huge Morton fan and a well-respected individual within the local community with a drive and determination to succeed in the role.
“We believe Andy is someone who will fit in very well with our ethos at the football club as we endeavour to foster further inclusiveness and accessibility at Cappielow.”
Andy added: “I am very pleased that the club has considered me for this role. I hope I will be able to repay the club in some way for the hospitality they have shown me during my recovery.
“I know I have a lot to learn but hope to improve the matchday experience for disabled supporters.”
Andy can be contacted via email at: dao@gmfc.net.
