2018/19 home kit competition winner revealed

The votes are counted and the verdict is in. Our supporters have spoken – and the winner of our 2018/19 home kit competition is option two: the hexagonal-based hooped design by Gavin MacIntosh.

It emerged as a clear fans’ favourite in our final four poll, conducted via the Greenock Telegraph and a public ballot in Smiths of Greenock, amassing a whopping 69 per cent of the total vote.

The kit will now go into production, with Gavin set to meet with manufacturers at Vision to work on the final design incorporating tweaks taking into account suggestions and comments made by fans on their ballots.

Chief executive Warren Hawke said: “We are delighted to announce the winner of our home strip competition: kit number two – Gavin MacIntosh’s unique design.

“It was interesting monitoring the voting as it went over the course of the weekend, and in my experience in the time I was in store in Smiths of Greenock was that it was by far the preferred choice of fans coming in to vote.

“We are delighted for Gavin, a loyal Morton fan and season card holder, to be the person who has designed the strip that the first-team will walk out in next season.

“In terms of the competition as a whole, it was well received and I’m pleased to reveal that there was around double the total number of votes registered in last year’s away kit competition.

“So supporters are engaging in the process and we’re very pleased with that, because it’s ultimately our supporters who, along with the players, will be wearing the shirt with pride.

“Finally, I would like to extend a big ‘thank you’ to Smiths for hosting the voting, the Greenock Telegraph for their fantastic coverage and support, and Vision for giving us the opportunity to offer bespoke designs.”
