Manager Jonatan Johansson has today bolstered his midfield with the addition of AFC Bournemouth midfielder Keelan O’Connell on loan until the end of the season.
The 20-year-old has been at the English Premier League side since the age of 11 and has progressed through their entire youth set-up, becoming a regular feature for the side’s under-21’s squad.
Johansson moved to bring the winger to Cappielow and he put pen to paper at the ground on Tuesday afternoon and is set to link up with his new Ton team-mates ahead of the game at Tannadice on Saturday.
The Cappielow gaffer told gmfc.net: “We’re delighted to have been able to bring Keelan in on loan until the end of the season.
“Keelan is an exciting young prospect and is highly regarded by everyone at Bournemouth, the next step in his development is to go and play first team football and we are grateful that Bournemouth have given us the opportunity to showcase him.
“He is a very skilful player and I think he will offer us something really different to what we have had before here.
“It’s now up to Keelan to fight for a place in the team and I believe he has the determination and desire to do so”.
He added “It’s massive for the club to have a good relationship with an English Premier League side and I believe it can only mean positive things moving forward.”
