Thank you to all the supporters who gave of their time yesterday to travel to Cappielow to pay their final respects to my father as our cortege passed the stadium en-route to the funeral.
It was an extremely moving and emotional experience for all our family to witness the great outpouring of respect that was shown by the many hundreds of supporters who lined Sinclair Street to give my father such a wonderful send off.
The respect shown will live with our family forever and we would all like to thank everyone who took part.
To all the friends, colleagues, players, ex-players, supporters, and acquaintances that packed the Lyle Kirk for the funeral – thank you all for such wonderful support.
It was of enormous comfort to our family and the memories of yesterday will live with us forever as we come to terms with our great loss.
Finally, I would also like to thank everyone who sent us all the many messages, cards, flowers, letters and support that our family received over the last week.
It has been overwhelming but a great comfort and support to our family for my father to be honoured in such an outstanding way.
