We can confirm that we will play Highland League club Turriff United in a pre-season friendly at The Haughs on Saturday 8 July with a 3pm kick-off.
The Aberdeenshire outfit are familiar foes having held us to a 1-1 draw at the same venue in the 2012/13 Scottish Cup before the Ton secured a comfortable 6-0 victory in the replay here at Cappielow.
In terms of friendlies in the Highlands, manager Jim Duffy also took his team on a mini tour of the north of Scotland with matches against Clachnacuddin and Brora Rangers in July 2015.
Going further back, Dave McPherson’s side recorded a 2-0 win over Fort William at Claggan Park and followed that up with a 1-0 triumph over then-First Division Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the summer of 2012.
The Greenock men extended the trip to three matches the following year, drawing 1-1 with Buckie Thistle before registering comfortable victories against Keith and Deveronvale.
Buckie Thistle held them to another 1-1 draw on their return to Victoria Park in July 2004, but Lossiemouth and Clachnacuddin were comfortably despatched, 7-0 and 6-1 respectively.
- Admission prices for the Turriff friendly will be confirmed in due course
