Diminutive winger Scott Tiffoney has been with the club since the age of 14, when he joined our youth academy from St Mirren Boys’ Club.
Coming from a footballing family, with brother Jonathan a current first-team player at Brechin City, the teenager was a standout as he progressed through the age groups before signing a full-time development squad deal aged just 16 in June 2015.
Tiff was a star performer as Derek Allan’s Under-17s won the inaugural Club Academy Scotland South-West league in 2014/15 and followed it up by helping Andy Millen’s group claim the Development League West crown the following season.
The highly-rated wideman has continued to make impressive progress this term, earning three starts and 11 sub appearances for the first-team, picking up the man of the match award for his display in a Betfred Cup win over Clyde in July 2016.
He has also continued to shine at Under-20 level, with three goals and nine direct assists in seven starts to help fire the Ton teens to the top of the table.
Glasgow-born Tiffoney was rewarded with a contract extension in September 2016, signing a new professional deal to tie him to the club until the summer of 2018.
The teenager is currently gaining valuable first-team experience with League Two outfit Clyde, who joined on an emergency loan until 4 January 2017.
