New Morton Supporters
on the Mariolina de Carlini
Gifts continue to pour in to Cappielow for the sailors stranded on the impounded ship at Inchgreen Dock. Kind supporters have brought in shampoo, dried and tinned foods, razors, toothpaste, tooth brushes and chocolate to lift the crews' spirits, who are expected to be here until at least December/January.
On Friday last week we passed on some lovely produce from Duncan Mackenzie Master Butcher in Inverkip Street, tuna steaks and rice from Tony Buckley Catering services, a selection of boiled sweets, chocolates and toffees from Golden Casket, a few light refreshments from Greenock Morton Supporters Club, home made cakes and veg from supporters and various fresh and dried groceries from the Club. As you can see from the picture, the crew were overwhelmed with the generosity of the people of Inverclyde.
The Lighthouse Bar, Chaplins, Prince of Wales, Broomhill Tavern and Craigend Resource Centre will accept any gifts for the crew, these will be picked up at regular intervals. However we do ask that you are sensible, nothing that will perish, as storage is limited.
